Dr. Maxey

Douglas Maxey, MD, is a board-certified anesthesiologist and pain management physician who has been practicing since 2013. At Allay Spine and Pain Management in McKinney, Texas, he provides compassionate, conscientious care to eliminate or reduce patients’ pain.

At Allay Spine and Pain Management, Dr. Maxey and the staff are committed to providing an exceptional experience. Dr. Maxey sees himself as a partner in improving each patient’s quality of life. He believes in fully investigating the cause of a patient’s pain and developing a personalized treatment plan according to their goals.

Allay Spine and Pain Management utilizes the latest technological advances in the industry so they can provide the best chronic pain treatments and restore patients’ lives. Dr. Maxey offers a full array of therapies, including spinal cord stimulation, to manage or eliminate conditions such as back pain, joint pain, neck pain, sciatica, arthritis, and complex regional pain syndrome. The team recognizes that every patient has different needs and prides themselves in the courteous service they deliver to each person who walks through the door.

Dr. Maxey has expertise with several interventional procedures. He was one of the first physicians in Dallas–Fort Worth to be trained on dorsal root ganglion (DRG) stimulation. He is also one of the few providers in the area who employs advanced neuromodulation techniques like targeted drug delivery and peripheral nerve stimulation. Dr. Maxey has given numerous presentations and has been published in a peer-reviewed journal.

Dr. Maxey is a member of the Texas Healthcare Advisory Council and the McKinney Chamber of Commerce, as well as the American Society of Anesthesiologists, American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, Spine Intervention Society, Texas Medical Association, and Texas Pain Society. Additionally, Dr. Maxey has mentored students aspiring to be health care professionals in the Frisco Independent School District.

When he isn’t working, Dr. Maxey enjoys spending time with his lovely wife and charming son. His home state is Colorado and he is an avid skier. His other interests are reading, traveling, swimming, and playing the guitar.

Janet Dean, APRN

Advanced Practice Registered Nurse

Janet Dean, APRN, is a nurse practitioner who manages follow-up patients and performs simple injections in the office. She has worked in pain management for almost 2 decades. She lives with her husband and their dog Charlie. Her children are grown and they have children of their own.

Shanda

Practice Administrator

With over 30 years of management experience, Shanda monitors the practice to make sure it runs smoothly and efficiently. She promotes team building for Dr. Maxey and the entire staff. She obtains prior authorizations for the injections/procedure and oversees the billing process. She enjoys spending time with her friends and family. Golfing is her pastime.

Jamiley

Front Office Coordinator

Jamiley will greet you with a smile right when you walk into the office. She makes sure the check-in and check-out process is smooth and seamless. She reviews your account to make sure all the demographics, insurance and referrals are up to date. She comes from a large family and enjoys spending time with them. She loves to stay in shape and the gym is her second home. She also served in the US Army for 3 years.

Kendra

Procedure Scheduling

Kendra schedules the surgeries and procedures for Allay Spine and Pain. She makes sure that everything is scheduled at the facility of choice and coordinates with the anesthesia teams. She enjoys spending time with her family, going shopping, and has a good eye for anything crafty.

Veronica

Medical Assistant

Veronica does the patient intake process. She takes your vital signs, make sure your health history is accurate, and assists the provider with any task. She works hard to communicate messages to the providers and makes return calls in a timely fashion. She also assists with medication prior authorization. She enjoys spending time with her family and loves to cook for her 3 children. She has been known to cheer on those Dallas Cowboys!

Amy

New Patient Coordinator

Amy manages and schedules all the New Patients for our practice. She works closely with all the referring providers and helps streamline the process of your first appointment. She enjoys spending time with her family and taking them to all their many sporting events.
