TREATMENTS

Struggling with joint pain? Relieve your pain with peripheral nerve block today!

A peripheral nerve block is an injection of numbing medicine near a specific nerve or group of nerves. Common nerve groups are:

  • Femoral: an injection around the groin to target leg joints
  • Popliteal: an injection around the back of the knee to target lower leg and foot
  • Brachial Plexus: an injection around the neck or above the collarbone to target the shoulder, arm and hand.

A Peripheral Nerve Block interrupts pain signals from a specific nerve outside the brain and spinal cord. Depending on the nerve involved, it may help manage selected cases of Neuropathy, Chronic Pain, Complex Regional Syndrome, and Carpal Tunnel-related symptoms. Carpal tunnel syndrome requires condition-specific evaluation and treatment.

Usually hours to days, depending on the anesthetic; longer relief can occur with certain techniques or treatment plans.

Most patients experience only mild discomfort during the procedure. A local anesthetic may be used to help minimize pain and keep you comfortable.
